Aug 13, 2025
Princess has lined up their 2027 Alaskan cruise season and it’s their biggest one to date. Eight Princess ships will sail in the Alaskan waters, including the new Sphere-class ship the Star Princess. Princess will offer 17 cruise destinations featuring four glacier-viewing experiences.

The fleet of eight ships Princess is sending off on Alaska cruises are the Star Princess, Coral Princess, Crown Princess, Discovery Princess, Emerald Princess, Island Princess, Royal Princess, and Ruby Princess. Ships will set sail from Seattle, Vancouver, San Francisco, and Los Angeles on various itineraries around the Alaska glaciers and waters.
Speaking of glaciers, those on the list to visit for Princess will be Glacier Bay National Park, Hubbard Glacier, College Fjord, and Endicott Arm & Dawes Glacier. Princess notes that they take more guests to Glacier Bay than any other cruise line. The cruise line also boasts that all their balcony staterooms offer non-obstructed views for front-row glacier viewing.

Ports of call for the trips include Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, Haines, Sitka, Icy Strait Point, and Victoria, B.C. The waterfront ports aren’t the only destinations as Princess will offer cruise and land tour pairings in custom-built wilderness lodges near Denali, Kenai Fjords & Wrangell-St. Elias National Parks. Princess has a direct ship to lodge (area) transportation service covered by rail. They even offer a special adventure with a 17-night Denali Escorted Cruisetour that has two nights at each of the five Princess lodges!

Most Alaska cruise lengths are around a week long, with 7-day trips being the average. Vancouver has the most range in itineraries with four of the ships being based out of there offering 6 to 9 day cruises on the Emerald Princess, Coral Princess, Crown Princess and Discovery Princess. Seattle will mostly offer 7-day trips aboard the Star Princess and Royal Princess. The Ruby Princess will be out of San Francisco mainly sailing 10-day journeys. And then Emerald Princess will have two 16-day cruises going to the Inside Passage with Glacier Bay National Park roundtrip from Los Angeles.
Princess has been offering Alaska cruises since 1969, so 2027 will be its 58th year. Travel Weekly named Princess 21 times as the "Best Cruise Line in Alaska."
